Allander Homecare was founded in 2009 and as Managing Director of the company I am passionate about providing the highest standard of care to the people we support in the community. Having carried out every role within the company from delivering care to on-call I feel I have a great understanding of the business and of our service user’s needs. I enjoy going out to meet the service users and getting their feedback as well as getting involved in our staff training and development. My goal is to ensure the health, welfare and wellbeing of our service users is our priority. I have a great, caring and dedicated team who always strive for improvement and I take great pride in seeing this being achieved. I want to continue, as a local business, supporting individuals within their own homes, bringing new ideas to help them lead an independent, happy and fulfilling life at home.

I am Fiona McNaught, the service manager at Allander Homecare. Having worked in the care sector for fourteen years I have built up a wide range of knowledge from my time spent working within various sectors including mental health, care of the elderly and adults with learning disabilities. Starting out as a care assistant I progressed my career through different levels, each of which has added to my skills and experience. I feel this has given me an insight into the importance that each role plays within a care service. My background experience of working within both large organisations and privately run businesses has helped me expand my own personal development over the years. My focus in life is to make a difference to people’s life’s, no matter how small that may be.

My name is Susan Devenay, I work as a Care Coordinator/Supervisor at Allander Homecare. I originally joined the company in January 2014 working as Allander’s Business Support Assistant. I re-joined Allander Homecare in October 2016 and progressed into my current role. My role as Care Coordinator involves matching the correct Care Worker to the correct customer for several reasons:

• Relevant experience for the care the customer needs
• Build relationship, trust and respect between the customer/care workers.

My role as Co-Ordinator allows me to visit our customers regularly, supporting the care team and liaising with health care professionals. I liaise with the registered manager to make sure there is sufficient cover to deliver all of the care and support plans on time. Make sure care workers with the right skills and experience are matched to deliver each customer’s care and support plan. Ensure run and working patterns are efficient and logical. Effectively prioritise to meet unexpected emergencies and changes in care packages. I started working in the care profession after caring for an ill family member for several years and wanted to help others in the same way. I have a passion for caring and helping people with all different health needs.

Out with my time at Allander Homecare, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, socialising and spending time outdoors, going on long walks in the Scottish country.
